Works Really Well So Far!
This simple triple tray and triple grow light set is really working well so far. This is my first year trying gardening, so I’m not sure if this is usually how fast the things I’m growing grow, but the seedlings are really moving in there. I did germinate the seeds in paper towels for several days before planting. This method of germinating by towel then planting in the trays seems to be going pretty well.I have cucumbers, watermelon and cantaloupe in there. I have the timer set for 12 hours, so it comes on and shuts off everyday at the same time. Everything in the tray to the left was planted about 4 days ago and is already too tall to be in there! Kind of wish the lid was just a little taller, as I have to wait for the true leaves to come in before transplant, but that’s alright. The sprouts to the right are watermelon and were planted less than 48 hours ago. You can already see they’ve made a decent amount of progress.The trays are extremely durable. The bottom and top bin are a semi hard plastic that doesn’t wobble when picked up. The water lasts really long in the reservoir as well. It’s easy to use and set up. There’s only a few steps to follow and you’re ready! For anyone interested, I’m using a mix of Jiffy Seed Starting Mix and Earth Science Earthworm Castings.

Ridiculous design.
OMG, where to start?1- As these are not a standard size, you can’t buy heating mats that fit underneath, without going way oversize and wasting electricity. (are shelf space)2: The lights seem OK (probably not enough APR value, but the color seems OK) However, the electronic timer (as found on many inexpensive lights) is literally useless. It doesn’t even have a selection for “16 hours” which is the standard time needed for veggy seedlings. – But even if it did, you’d have to get up at 6 am to turn it on. Otherwise, there’s no point to having it auto. And if you get a mechanical timer (and you will) then the timer will turn the light off at the wrong time, since there’s no “always on” selection !3 – The self-watering thing works, but the flet they give you isn’t long enough to reach even halfway down the sides of the tub. The specifically say to only fill the tub 1/3 of the way (no idea why) and this will result in dead seeds since no water will get to them. I bought new felt and cut it to the right length.4: In order for the self-watering function to work, and no over-saturate your plants, they make the bottom of each cell very narrow. Unfortunately, this will lead to root-bound plants, unless you transplant to larger pots much sooner than typical. – And that means possibly damaging the fragile stems, which will have not yet developed enough.Sigh …..

Nice kit. Would buy again!
Arrived exactly as expected & I’m already using to start our veggie seeds inside! Sturdy enough to move very carefully to a different spot. Size is good for me. Seed starting was very easy. Value, if it works, it’s awesome! Only issue I had was where I wanted to put them (in our unfinished basement), the grow light “arms” needed to be a tad longer, but I managed. Otherwise, no complaints.

Easy for first timers!
Super easy set up for first timers growing seeds! The only thing I ran into was my cucumber plant grew so fast I needed to take the cover off but that was a me problem 😂

Getting the hang of this
I must admit that I’m new to this, but I have problems taking the little sprout to transplant without killing it… instructions say to use one of the holders on the bottom in the water to push the plants, but I can’t catch all the plants at the same time to do any good

Great little starter kit!
Perfect little kit, lights are great. I started one of the 3 dome set ups flowers in this one. Within a week most have sprouted, I had to move the light further away from one side. They all seemed to grow at the same rate and almost touching the top of the dome. Definitely recommend!
