Perfect for countertop composting!!
Sits on the countertop and ODOR-FREE. No smell. I love it. Looks nice and very sturdy. A gentle reminder to compost for the garden. Keeps from having to run outside to the compost bin.

Fabulous
We really like this. Huge capacity means you have more time between trips to the compost. Love the handle, not too heavy, very durable, looks good, wooden handles, and the well-designed insert into the lid that prevents fruit flies can be taken out and cleaned. No complaints, very happy with purchase and recommended. It’s been lugged by children and left outside for days, still looks great.

Great bin, no exterior odors.
This compost bin is perfect. I use 2.5 gallon bags in it because anything smaller and I am fighting to keep it from falling inside once I add any compostable material. Sometimes the bags leak, but this bin washes out without any issues. The carbon filter also works wonders. I am still using the original after months of use and I can smell NOTHING even if the bin has an odor when I open it. Even then, once I remove the bag, the bin and carbon filter have no smell at all. I highly recommend this is you are looking for a compost bin to have in your home. My only recommendation is to buy slightly bigger bags than it comes with. They work, they’re just not ideal for reasons mentioned above.

Very cute but the handle is absolutely useless
It comes with picture instructions of the handles ability to be removed and installed again and states, “If the handle is accidently dropped in use, do not worry you can follow you can follow the above steps to reinstall can continue to use”. Problem is that the handle isnt made correctly and falls out of the sides if the breeze blows on it, not only that but its not the handle that actually falls (as they put it it would be the compost bucket and everything in it dumped everywhere if you try to carry this thing out to the compost pile. The last thing I would worry about (as they put it) is how to rig the handle back into it again and again but the mess it would make if I dont constantly remind myself not to grab this thing by the handle (as I would my $1 bucket I purchased this to replace). Its much nicer to look at than my bucket with tin foil on top (no doubt). I would be fully satisfied with this thing if it had a working handle because we use the handle to carry it out to the compost pile and dump it. Nothing is made the way it used to be made and buying things that function well (or at all) seems more a thing of the past.Its a nice looking bucket with a faulty handle, if anyone buys this and has the same problem and can post a video on how to fix it so its not so loosely removable and can make it more permanent I would love to see it.Update: The company is really awesome, they read my review and contacted me with an offer to refund my money and I honestly did not want a refund because its a really nice compost bucket the handle is the only problem. They ended up generously refunding me, they went above and beyond for me over this, never had a company do that. I bumped up from 3 stars to 4 because their customer service is above and beyond what I have ever seen before.

Does not come with black liner pail!
This was not my first choice for pails to be honest but the price, the dimensions (being slightly large than some) narrower and tall not wider and short, being metal. And the fact that I THOUGHT it came with a plastic pail liner. The plastic pail liner was what I was really looking for as my partner takes out the compost as a chore he can do (he has Parkinson’s), the liner would have made it easier. I am also concerned with eventual rusting or corrosion on the bottom of the pail since the contents sit directly on the metal (with exception of the thin compostable bag) But I should have read the descriptions more carefully. The black pail liner is not included. I did keep the pail anyway. It does seem to hold the odors in. The small cake size, store brand, paper desert plates are a perfect size for lining the bottom along with paper towels for absorbing liquids. We don’t have a lot of counter space so our compost can is stored on the stove. The metal makes this a safer option.

Fruit Flies Everywhere Inside and Multiplying
Looks charming and a decent size but is absolutely not fruit fly proof. I get a swarm of flies and a lid full of maggots every time I open it. I will try to seal off the ventilation but doesn’t that defeat the point of having ventilation?I will say the charcoal filter is mostly absorbing smells but if I block the ventilation, that filter is practically meaningless.

Good buy.
This white, metal kitchen composter is pretty and doesn’t take up much room at all. It’s also holds more waste than any composter in this price range. The biodegradable bags need to be secured with a rubber band otherwise each time you remove the lid the bag will fall into the bin. My only complaint..the composter came really well packaged and still had a large dent in the side. Since the outer box had no damage I deduced that it was put in the box that way. Ok, I hammered out the dent and turned it to face the wall but umm..quality control people…

Came with non compostable bags
Pretty sure I got regular green trash bags and not compostable bags. Just a bit dishonest, I couldn’t let it pass my notice. The bin itself is good, just wish I got actual compostable bags instead of being deceived into thinking these ones are and putting them in my compost. Picture shows the bag after a couple days in water. No decomposition, just plastic.
