Perfect for a worry free approach to composting!
I love this brand new composter, I have always wanted to start composing for my growing collection of trees! In the past I have done my research on what to do and everything so I would just fill a bucket of old food scraps and pretty much just let it decay. But with this machine it makes composting quicker but also much easier. The machine itself consists of a durable frame with all pieces appearing to be sturdy. It is super easy to clean because everything is easily accessible because everything pretty much just slides out. The container where the magic happens is pretty big too, and with the fact it shreds up those scraps you can fit a lot in there. And when ready you just slide it out and put it where you want! I It looks well in my kitchen blending in with my other appliances and it doesn’t make any excessive noise. I love this composter for helping me five nutrients for my trees and for helping me avoid excessive food waste!

Fits grocery bags perfectly and works great
This hanging trash can works exactly as expected. It fits a standard grocery bag perfectly, which makes it super convenient for daily use and easy to replace. The lid helps keep odors contained, and the compact design saves space whether you use it in the kitchen, bathroom, laundry room, or even in a camper. It’s sturdy, easy to clean, and simple to install on a cabinet door or wall. A very practical little bin if you want something space‑saving and odor‑free.

Nice little composter!
I decided to try this finally. Super easy to use honeslty. You really just throw your stuff in and hit start. Super quiet. Easy to move for the most part. It does have a carbon filter to reduce odor. I would still suggest considering using it outdoors. The carbon filter does help. There is a list of foods to use minimally but overall you can compost almost everything, even some paper products, so its pretty versatile in my opinion. Great way to reduce waste, especially if you garden or have plants.

Compact, Odor-Free, and Useful in Everyday Life
This little hanging trash can has become one of those “why didn’t I get this sooner” items in my home. I use it mainly in the kitchen for compost scraps, and it’s surprisingly roomy for its size. The lid really does keep smells under control, even on days when I’m cooking a lot. What I appreciate most is how convenient it is — I can chop veggies and sweep everything straight in without constantly opening a big trash bin. It’s also super easy to clean, which makes a big difference when using it for compost.Simple, functional, and genuinely useful.

Feed your plants your leftovers!
The first thing I noticed about the Ouaken OK-255 is how solid it was. The box was heavy, which told me they did not skimp on the materials, and the unit was built to last. Its 5.5-liter capacity gives it plenty of space to handle waste from several meals, meaning you won’t have to run it as often as you would a smaller unit. While it is built as compactly as possible, its large capacity does mean it may not fit well on the countertop of a small kitchen. For that reason, we have ours on the floor in an unused corner. We purchased a small plastic bin for our countertop in which we put scraps before transferring them to the machine on the floor for processing. The OK-255 is quiet and is barely noticeable, so you can have a normal conversation with it running in the same room. While one might think that processing food waste might cause offensive smells, what little smell it does produce is pleasant, reminiscent of a forest after rainfall. While other reviewers have pointed out that what the OK-255 produces is not technically compost, it is a soil-like material that is pleasant to handle, and a product that enriches our soil and that our plants thrive on. Even though it does not produce as much soil amendment as a true composter would, we appreciate not having to turn waste with a shovel in a large barrel in our back yard.We purchased the 5.5 liter OK-255 as an upgrade to the 4 Liter JF6001. The extra 1.5-liter capacity helps it not to fill up as quickly and the longer cord means we do not have to use an extension cord to plug into our counter level outlets. The cycle time to process is 3-10 hours for the OK-255 while the JF6001 takes 12-17 hours to process less waste. The shorter time is especially helpful since both machines consume a significant amount of power, 500 watts. The controls of the OK-255 are on the front, which is fine if it is placed on a countertop, but if it is on the floor as ours is, the front-mounted buttons make it a little less convenient than the top-mounted buttons of the JF6001.All in all, the OK-255 is a great way to make good use of your food scraps while enhancing your garden!

It looks great and is durable.
This makes my life easier. It turned out great and looks elegant. I like the color and how easy it is to install; the bag doesn’t slip out of its spot and fits perfectly. It is sturdy and holds securely, so it doesn’t fall down

Works perfectly, quiet and attractive.
We first bought Ouaken’s 4 liter compactor. It worked perfectly and we are very satisfied with it. We wanted a second one and so bought Ouaken’s 5.5 liter version. The new compactor also works perfectly. It is very quiet. It is compact, attractive and appears very well made. It is easy to operate and to clean. From our experience with Ouaken and its products, we recommend both.

Very pleased with composter. It is extremely well built, the sound during operation was practically nil and truly odorless, bucket cleans easily. Also a great company to work with when need of assistance. I would recommend this product to anyone.

I love the larger ok-255 electric composter compared to my 4 litre version I have. Some of the features I really likethe flip top lid compared to the screw on lid the 4 litre has.I have osteoarthritis in my hands and the flip top lid makes it much easier to use. This unit has a easy to remove carbon filterand water tray in bottom where filter drops in.The plug in cord is removable for storage when not in use.The ok-255 has a large viewing window which is nice to look inside when operating. This composter is very quiet and the odor that comes off is minimal. This unit is well made and should give you years of serviceThe pictures I submitted show the size difference between the 2 units.I have a indoor hydroponic lettuce garden and the larger model allows me to compost less often.I wish that Ouaken 255 had more choice in colors but still very pleased and would highly recommend.DougB.C. I’ve wanted this composter for a while and honestly it’s better than I expected! It’s a good size — and hold quite a bit! But I was so pleasantly surprised with how pretty it is! Crisp white – very aesthetically pleasing!I usually add our food scraps throughout the day and don’t have to empty it constantly.I was worried about smell but am happy to say it actually does a really good job. It’s also pretty quiet — you can hear it a bit but I was surprised at how quiet it is given what it’s doing!Easy to use! You just throw stuff in, press the button – that’s basically it! It has a clear top which is neat to watch it work! And 5 modes which is handy!Cleaning is easy enough because the insert is removable!Yes, it’s a bit of an investment but it’s a really high quality piece of equipment!

I just received the OK-255 composter and it is amazing. I had the earlier version and was really happy with it but decided to upgrade to this model to get the larger capacity. We are a family of five and it fills up quickly. This newer model has some great additional features and does a great job. I had it filled and ended with about one couple of dried compost. My house plants love it and I am excited to add it to my vegetable garden this spring. I would highly recommend this composter. It’s incredible how much less food scraps we have that go into the garbage.

I bought a 4-liter model last year and have been using it every day with great satisfaction, so I recently purchased the new 5.5-liter model.Starting with the downsides, the user manual for this product is poorly designed. A manual should be created based on how users will actually use the product, but this one simply explains the functions of each button, which can be quite confusing. Even as someone who is already familiar with the same brand, I found it confusing when I first read the manual for the new model. From a consumer’s perspective, that clearly indicates the manual is not well made. One difference from the previous model is that this one no longer includes a fermentation mode. In reality, the so-called “fermentation” function was not true fermentation—it simply ground and dried the waste. If mixed improperly with soil, it could actually cause rotting or harm plants due to osmotic effects. So I assume they removed what was essentially a superficial feature. As for improvements, although I can’t say with absolute certainty, the grinding performance seems better. This is likely due to a change in the blade design. The previous model had straight blades, whereas the new model uses a more geometric structure, which appears to be more efficient. The grinding time also feels shorter.Another new feature is the Quick mode, which allows for simple operations in a shorter amount of time.Convenience has also improved. Previously, the lid had to be twisted to lock in place, but the new model uses a button mechanism to open and close the lid, making it much easier to use.The odor control is said to be improved, but it hasn’t eliminated smells completely. I think that’s just an unavoidable limitation. The inner container for food waste also seems to have a thicker coating than before, which makes cleaning easier.Since I was very satisfied with the previous model, I have high expectations for this new one as well.
