Love this container. The color is beautiful. The filter on the lid works great I have it sitting on my counter and I never smell anything and nothing ever leaks out. This is light even when it is full and very easy to clean. Highly recommend.

Cute and just the right size for my kitchen to collect the compost. Only improvement I suggest is that it would be helpful to have a way to remove the filter from inside the lid to be able to clean it better.

Great design, but it leaks.
It looks great and seems well built, and I loved it until it started to leak after the second use. It seems any fluid in it, which you often get from compost leaks straight out on the counter. I am returning it.

Cute but paint already split inside
It’s very cute and I don’t smell a thing. But I haven’t used it for that long (a few weeks) and the paint inside on the bottom has already split and started to come up. I understand the nature of compost is that it’s very acidic, but I don’t know how long this bin will last before it starts corroding due to the lack of coating.

Paint peels off quickly exposing cheap metal.
Cute, liked the lid with filter. However, just went to dump it and realized all the paint is peeling off the bottom. Not what I want in my compost! Had less than a year. Also, I did cut my finger on the sharp metal piece holding in the screen on the lid. Cheaply made.

It arrived in excellent condition, exactly as described and of looks to be of good quality. I usually use empty plastic coffee containers with lids, but the moisture inside means the lids constantly need washing. So when I saw this container had a lid with a built-in filter, I figured it was worth a try. It also looks much nicer on the counter than a coffee container.I noticed some people have had issues with paint peeling on the inside and one mentioning some leaking when putting compost directly in the canister, but since I always use compost bags, I don’t expect to have that same experience and it’s been working great for me so far. My only concern is how it will hold up after a few months of use. The filter in the lid does a good job of containing smells while letting air circulate, but I can’t figure out how I can replace it once it starts to absorb odors over time, which will likely leak out. Because the filter is held in with several metal support rods that don’t seem removable, it appears nearly impossible to swap the filter out in one piece. I’m sure there’s a way, but I don’t want to risk damaging it, so I’ll need to take some extra time to search online for instructions when I’m up to it.So far, it’s keeping odors at bay, works well with my current brand of compost bags, and I love its cute look. I’ll update my post soon about the filter or if any issues arise, but for now, with me assuming I can find an easy way to replace the filter and as long as no problems crop up, it’s a 4.5 for me, being rounded up on the rating system.UDATE: I spent a bit more time fiddling with the lid to see if I could figure out how to replace the filter. Even without looking it up, it turned out to be easier to remove the support bars than I expected. Since they’re made of thinner metal, I just needed to pull from the middle, bending them slightly, and it popped right out. It did leave a few small surface scratches on the inner side of the lid, but nothing to worry about since that section is not visiable whatsoever.

It’s cute. My wife really likes the blue color. It’s a good size, plenty for the amount of organic waste you’d probably want under/on your counter.Now the build is pretty cheap. Paint has chips and is missing in some areas. I anticipate this being prone to rusting quite easily, so I’ll be using an organic green bag liner, if we decide to actually use it as a compost bin.That said, since it’s a cute color, shape and size, we may convert it for other purposes. We’re thinking of closing up the holes, adding a rubber ring to the edge of the lid and using it to collect from the cat box. Would be kinda funny seeing “compost” typed on that bin too.As a functional compost bin, it’s decent. As a general use decorative metal container, it’s great. Just beware the lax build quality and likelihood of rust or other deteriorating potentials.

Finally I have the means of putting vegetable feelings in a compact bin to add to the compost. My waste bin does not smell of rotting vegetable waste now and the compost bin is easy to wash clean

Seems to be working great so far. Sits in my kitchen and getting zero bad smells. After a few days of usage we transfer to the composter in the garden so its a good size too.
